At Chemistry Research Laboratory - HMSIT (CRL-HMSIT), a research team consisting of eight postgraduates (MSc-Chemistry) from various universities investigate basic research and industrial applications in the field of heterogeneous catalysis. These postgraduates who work as research scholars under the supervision of Dr. SZM Shamshuddin will be awarded PhD from the university based on their publications and the thesis.
The goal of CRL-HMSIT is to facilitate the transfer of results from basic research towards useful industrial applications.
It aims to build up an efficient network between academia and industry to facilitate transfer of knowledge between the two partners and to develop new heterogeneous catalysts with application potential within industry.
In CRL-HMSIT, the research projects are initiated and funded from various agencies like DST-GoI, VGST-GoK, etc., as well as from the VTU, Belagavi. In our projects we focus on problems in heterogeneous catalysis with industrial relevance. The long term projects also provide the co-workers enough material to publish their results in the literature.
